Description

Produced using the Japanese Raku technique, this sculpture results from a firing process marked by unpredictability and a direct relationship with the elements (earth, fire, and organic materials).

Raku reflects an encounter between control and chance. Removed from the kiln while still incandescent and subjected to a reduction process, the surface reveals unique marks, cracks, and variations.
